The “Declutter Your Biz” Challenge from NAPO Business Partner Pro Organizer Studio

You’ve put a lot of hard work into building your clientele and being amazing at what you do! As you get busier, it can be more and more difficult to find the time to work on your business, because most of your time is spent working in it.

As a professional organizer, you can’t afford to ignore your online presence and let things get out of date. That reads as “sloppy” and defeats the whole purpose of how you want potential clients to perceive your brand. One of the first ways you are demonstrating your organizing expertise is in the way you showcase your business online, so it is important to take the time to polish up.

Here’s a quick cleanse you can do on your next administrative day to clear the clutter in your own business.

1. Audit your website. What needs to be updated or fixed in your text? Have your hours of operation changed? Is any of your wording specific to the season?

Make sure little details like this are updated in order to provide the correct information to your visitors and to keep your website fresh and active.

2. Update graphics and photos so that they all “go together” with your brand. I can’t stress enough that your branding represents you.

Double-check that all of your “art” on your website is cohesive. Put your best foot forward with branding that is clean and beautiful, while still choosing colors and fonts that compliment your personal style.

3. Click your own links. I mean all of them… Don’t forget about your social media profiles, too!

Are any of your links broken? You may be surprised to find one that takes your visitors to a page that doesn’t exist. Better safe than sorry!

4. Clean up your personal Facebook page. Yep, clients are checking you out – so make sure everything that’s visible to the public is on-brand and represents a professional image.

When you post images, articles or memes anywhere on the web, always think to yourself, “Am I ok with this post being the first thing a potential client sees when they are researching me and my business?”

5. Edit down to the BEST of the best for any before-and-after portfolio images you have on social media and your website. While it is great to keep the before-and-after images on your website fresh, don’t add new photos just because you have them. Make sure they show your best work and blend well with the overall feel of your site so that they don’t become visual clutter.

Quality over quantity wins every time for a high-end look and feel. Again, putting your best foot forward and avoiding visual “overwhelm” for busy and easily-distracted potential clients is the way to go.
