February 2021 Message from the President, Susie Hayman

Dear NAPO Friends,

As I look ahead to NAPO2021, I reflect on a phrase written by French writer Jean-Baptiste Alphonse Karr – “plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose.”  The more things change, the more they stay the same.

How true this is of NAPO’s first virtual conference. Although we are spread out all over the world, this year’s conference will still provide us with the feeling of truly being there and connecting in many of the ways in which we are accustomed. In addition to the outstanding educational sessions being offered, there is something for everyone, and I want to share some of that with you:

  • If you’re new to NAPO or a first-time Conference attendee, there’s a special session, before the opening program, designed just for you. There’s also a Buddy Program for those interested in connecting with seasoned NAPO members to provide guidance and support as you navigate the 2021 conference. Just click here to complete the form.
  • If you’re wanting to learn from an experienced coach, you will be able to sign up for one on one laser coaching sessions, being held throughout the Conference. Watch for session enrollment to open soon.
  • If you’re looking to network, there will be a special interactive platform, so that you can connect with colleagues and make new connections.
  • If you’re expecting something different, it’s going to happen throughout, from the opening to the closing.
    • A unique “Opening”
    • A general session on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
    • A Presidents’ Reception*** (Watch for details)
    • A fun “Closing”
  • If you’re an extrovert, there will be fun games and celebrations
  • If you’re an introvert, there will relaxation and mindfulness breaks

It’s been two years since we were together at Conference. I encourage you to join me for NAPO2021, so that we can connect with one another, learn from each other, and create meaningful, intentional and lasting connections.

So, if you haven’t done so yet, please register today. If you’ve registered, be on the lookout for our special “Know Before You Go” communication, coming to your inbox soon.

“See” you in April!

Warmest regards,

Susie Hayman

  1. This will be my first ever NAPO conference as I’m new to the field and was concerned I wouldn’t get as much out of it because I wouldn’t know what to expect and was afraid of missing things. But I love the idea of the buddy system, networking time and additional session just for us “newbies”! Thanks for thinking of us 🙂 Can’t wait!
